An elderly man has been arrested under accusations of molesting a minor.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that a 60-year-old man was arrested, in connection with a case of a child falling victim to sexual abuse.
The case was filed at the police institution on 28 December 2022.
The case surfaced after a 13-year-old fell victim to sexual assault, in an upper-north island.
The man was arrested under a court order on Sunday evening.
MPS revealed that the case is under further investigations.
