A man has been summoned in connection with an ongoing probe.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) publicized the summons on Thursday, noting that the man is being sought for questioning regarding a case submitted at the Hulhumalé Phase I Police Station.
The case of theft is being probed by the police station currently.
The summons notice was publicized as police efforts to locate the man and issue the summons chit were to no avail as his whereabouts remain unknown and even his family is unaware of his current location.
MPS issued the notice in accordance with Section 27 of the code of criminal procedure to be followed by the authority when investigating criminal cases.
As such, summoned is Kashem, 25 and native to Bangladesh.
He is wanted for questioning in connection with the case of theft.
The Bangladeshi national is to present himself to the Hulhumalé Phase I police station at 10am on January 19.
