Both the projects will be commenced once the environmental impact assessment is completed
Harbor development projects of Velidhoo and Lhohi Island handed over to MTCC
Ministry of National Planning Housing and Infrastructure has handed over the Harbor Development Projects of Velidhoo Island and Lhohi Island of Noonu Atoll.
The handing over ceremony was held at the Planning Ministry on Thursday.
During the ceremony, General Manager of MTCC Shifaau Ali signed the agreement on behalf of the company and Director General Fathmath Shaanaa Faarooq signed the agreement on behalf of the Ministry.
Velidhoo Harbor Development Project is valued at MVR 47.21 million.
Under the scope of the project MTCC will be doing harbor basin dredging operations of 67,020 cubic meters, new harbor basin dredging operations of 19,513 cubic meters, and channel dredging operations of 2,414 cubic meters.
The project is to be completed within 500 days.
The Harbor Development Project of Lhohi Island is valued at MVR 64.87 million and is to be completed within 640 days.
The scope of the project includes harbor basin dredging operations of 66,701 cubic meters, and channel dredging operations of 2,205 cubic meters.
The project also includes revetment work of 95 meters, groin work of 50 meters and 1,720 cubic meters harbor pavement.
Both the projects will be commenced once the environmental impact assessment is completed.
