The harbor and channel dredging project in Noomaraa island of Shaviyani atoll, has been mobilized.

This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Thursday.

As such, the company revealed that they mobilized the Noomaraa harbor and channel dredging project on December 15.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct maintenance dredging operations of existing harbor basin and surveying works measuring an area of 6,347 cubic meters.

In a meeting held with the island council back in June this year, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih assured the island community that the administration will accord priority to alleviate the challenges and issues faced in utilizing the island harbor.

As part of the administration’s development vision, MTCC has been successfully carrying out and wrapping up a number of development projects across different parts of the island nation.
