VP Naseem inaugurates new services at Hulhumeedhoo Health Centre
The vice president will conclude his visit and return to the capital, Malé City on December 19
The center features specialist doctors from AEH, who will hold routinely consultations
The new services include ophthalmology, dental, ENT, X-ray, physiotherapy, and dialysis services

Vice President Faisal Naseem has inaugurated the new services at the healthcare center in Hulhumeedhoo district of southernmost Addu City.

VP Naseem inaugurated the new services at Hulhumeedhoo Health Center on Thursday, as part of his ongoing visit to the south of Maldives.

The new services include ophthalmology, dental, ENT, X-ray, physiotherapy, and dialysis services.

Taking the podium at the event, VP Naseem highlighted that the incumbent administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih accorded top priority to improve healthcare services across the country and that the new services launched on Thursday will pave ease access to healthcare for the residents of Hulhumeedhoo.

He also touched upon the Solih administration’s efforts to develop and improve the healthcare sector and shed light on the ongoing efforts to establish tertiary hospitals in five regions, including Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH).

VP Naseem noted that several development projects are currently underway in Addu City, especially in the healthcare and education sectors.

After the inauguration ceremony, VP Naseem toured the healthcare center and inquired about its operations.

Build separate from the other districts of Addu City, the 16-bed Hulhumeedhoo Healthcare Center is managed by the AEH.

The center features specialist doctors from AEH, who will hold routinely consultations.

The center also provides services on a round-the-clock basis.

VP Naseem departed to Fuvahmulah City and Addu City on Thursday.

His first destination was Addu City where he visited all the districts of the city.

He will visit government offices and institutions during his stay in Fuvahmulah City, where he will also inaugurate the new facility of Fuvahmulah Hospital.

VP Naseem will also attend the function to mark the anniversary of the Gnaviyani Atoll Education Center.

The vice president will conclude his visit and return to the capital, Malé City on December 19.
