Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched a manhunt for an individual wanted for police interrogation.
The police institution revealed this via a publication on Monday, noting that the man is being sought for police interrogation regarding a case being probed by the Fuvahmulah Police Station in the south of Maldives.
The manhunt was publicized as the authority’s efforts to locate the man and handover his summons notice has been to no avail so far, and as the MPS has been unable to track him down.
The summons was issued in accordance with section 27 of the Code of Criminal Procedure to be followed by the police while investigating criminal cases.
Being sought is 30-year-old Ibrahim Shareef, native to Fuvahmulah City.
Shareef is summoned for questioning regarding the case ongoing at the Fuvahmulah Police Station.
He is to present himself to the Shaheed Hussain Adam Building in the capital city where the MPS is headquartered, at 11am on December 20.
MPS took the opportunity to express gratitude to the public for the generous assistance and support extended in such cases.
