Views have been exchanged on enhancing the cooperation between Maldives and Netherlands especially in the areas of environment and climate change.

This was done during a courtesy call paid by the newly appointed Ambassador of Netherlands to the Maldives, Bonnie Horbach on Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid on Tuesday.

The meeting saw FM Shahid congratulating Ambassador Horbach on her appointment and shedding light on the longstanding relations that exist between the two countries.

FM Shahid revealed that he is reassured that the longstanding relations between the two countries will continue to prosper during the new ambassador’s tenure.

FM Shahid and Ambassador Horbach went on to exchange views to further enhance cooperation between the two countries, especially in the areas of environment and climate change.

They went on to reaffirm commitment to continue working closely in the multilateral arena.

The meeting was also joined by Secretary Bilateral Dr. Hala Hameed, Joint Secretary Shiuneen Rasheed and Assistant Director Mohamed Shaffau Ibrahim.
