The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Abdulla Shahid has stated that the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Maldives and Japan has grown to encompass many areas of cooperation.
Minister Shahid stated this in his message of felicitation to Hayashi Yoshimasa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, on the 55th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Japan.
In his message, the Maldivian Minister noted that the bilateral relations between the two countries over these 55 years, have maintained sound and steady growth and have stood the test of time.
Noting that the diplomatic relations between the two countries has grown to encompass many areas of cooperation, Minister Shahid highlighted the contribution towards the socio-economic development of Maldives.
Today, our countries continue to enjoy excellent and multifaceted relations, which are underpinned by strong bonds of friendship and expanding people-to-people exchanges, said Minister Shahid.
Minister Shahid went on to say that he is confident that the accomplishments of the last five decades has been mutually beneficial for the people of both the countries. He stated that Maldives remain assured that the best years of our partnership are still ahead of us.
In his message, Minister Shahid conveyed warm greetings and sincere good wishes of the Government and the people of Maldives, and those of his own, to the Foreign Minister, the Government, and the friendly people of Japan.
Minister Shahid concluded his message by sending his best wishes for the success, good health and well-being and for the peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Japan.
