The harbor reconstruction project in Kamadhoo island of Baa atoll, is well underway.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed that the second shipment of quay wall blocks required for the Kamadhoo harbor reconstruction project was delivered to the project site on Monday.

MTCC is currently conducting the quay wall block installation work at the site, under the project.

The company revealed that the new harbor basin dredging work has reached 92 percent progress.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to conduct dredging and excavation operations of 25,636 cubic meters.

Further, the company will also be constructing a breakwater measuring 180 meters, a 628-meter revetment and a quay wall measuring 346 meters.

The project also includes the installation of harbor pavement, harbor lights and the construction of a ramp.

The project is valued at MVR 47.01 million.
