Economic Ministry on Thursday announces the Government is yet to reach a decision on holding this year’s Maldives Investment Forum in the State of Qatar.
Speaking to Raajje.mv, Economic Ministry’s Deputy Minister Adam Thaufeeq said the venue will be announced later.
Economic Ministry’s statement came at the time when Maldives had severed diplomatic ties with Qatar, mirroring the decision taken by Saudi Arabia and other Arabic nations. Maldives Foreign Ministry assures the severance is limited to only diplomatic ties; economic ties will remain unimpacted.
Last year, Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed announced the 2017 Maldives Investment Forum will be held in Qatar and the destination was chosen by President Yameen himself.
