Changes have been made to the registration policy for four-wheeled vehicles in Hulhumale’.
Housing Development Corporation (HDC) in March made the change to only allow registration of four-wheeled vehicles in the name of owners of land, flats, or row houses in Hulhumale’, or in the name of their spouse, parent, or child.
HDC has also stopped registering vehicles to owners without garages, but will allow registration of the vehicle owner has made an agreement with a land owner in Hulhumale’ to park the vehicle in their garage.
HDC also stated that it will allow any vehicle owners, whose registration was nullified before the policy change, to bring in a new vehicle as compensation.
