Two individuals have been arrested for stealing half a dozen bottles of alcohol from a resort in Addu City.

Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that arrested in connection with the case of theft are a 23-year-old expatriate and a 34-year-old expatriate, both men.

The police operation was launched after an intel report submitted to the police stationed at Hulhumeedhoo island on October 31, regarding a case of theft in a resort located in the south of Maldives.

Hulhumeedhoo officers confiscated six bottles of alcohol the two expatriates stole from the resort.

The two suspects have since been remanded by 15 days, after they were presented to the Hulhudhoo Magistrate Court of their remand hearing.

They are to be detained at a facility decided by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Further investigations in connection with the case, are being carried out by the Hulhumeedhoo Police Station.
