The President will present the awards at a special ceremony in Dharubaaruge at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2022
The recipients are vetted and selected by the National Awards Committee
The Committee also announced that "National Award of Recognition" will be presented to 22 recipients

The National Awards Committee of the President’s Office has announced he decision to present this year’s "National Award of Honour" to 10 recipients.

The announcement was made on Wednesday.

The Committee also announced that "National Award of Recognition" will be presented to 22 recipients.

The National Awards are conferred annually to recognize and encourage the efforts of individuals and organizations that contribute to the nation’s development and society’s benefit. 

The recipients are vetted and selected by the National Awards Committee.

This year, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will confer the National Award of Recognition on 19 individual recipients and three organizations.

Five of this year’s National Award of Honour awardees will be previous National Award of Recognition recipients.

The President will present the awards at a special ceremony in Dharubaaruge at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2022.

The President will also deliver an address to the nation at the ceremony.
