Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has arrived in Muscat, Oman on an official visit as the Special Envoy of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Minister Shahid arrived in Muscat on Tuesday and was received by the Chief of Protocol of Oman Khalid Aljaradi.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed that Minister Shahid will be delivering a letter from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to the Sultan of Oman, His Majesty Haitham bin Tariq and that the Minister's visit to Oman will be from 18 October to 20 October.

Additionally, the Minister is scheduled to meet with his counterpart, Foreign Minister of Oman, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi during the visit.

The Ministry also disclosed that Minister Shahid will hold discussions on strengthening bilateral cooperation with his Omani counterpart.

The two foreign ministers will also discuss relevant multilateral issues and priorities.

During the visit, Minister Shahid will also meet the Minister of Heritage and Tourism of Oman Salem bin Mohammed Al-Mahrouqi, and hold discussions with the Oman Investment Authority, to explore avenues for cooperation in the areas of tourism and investment.

Foreign Minister Shahid is accompanied by the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to Oman, Mohamed Khaleel and the Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Fathimath Najwa.
