There are false stories being spread on social media and some media outlets that people are openly practicing Hinduism in Bilehdhoo. These stories are being spread to defame Bilehdhoo.
Bilehdhoo Council President Ahmed Aslam told Raajje MV that three foreigners came to the attention of the council , worshiping Buddha in Bilehdhoo early on Thursday night. The incident has been reported to the police, he said. The event was witnessed by a few people in the island and this is the first time such a thing has happened, he said.
