MDP's Fourth congress
No complaints submitted regarding legitimacy of congress: MDP
This was the most publicly conducted congress to date: MDP
The legitimacy of the congress is unquestionable, without a doubt, said Waheed
The letter goes on to point out that there was no elections to appoint some of the members

There were no complaints regarding the legitimacy of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)'s fourth congress, states Ibrahim Waheed (Iburey), the congress chairman and the upper North Provincial president.

Answering the questions by Raajje.mv in Saturday’s press conference he stated that there were 11 complaints from three factions regarding the congress.

However, four of the 11 people stated their content with the congress and therefore the legitimacy of the complaints is questionable, Ibrahim Waheed added.

MDP’s chairperson Fayyaz Ismail received a letter from an individual questioning the legitimacy of the congress.

The letter addressed to Fayyaz had the writer’s name as Mohammed Areef.

A copy of the letter had been given to the elections commission.

The letter called out the presidents of the different branches and how they came to be, and also stated that the branch leaders were in their position against regulation.

The letter goes on to point out that there was no elections to appoint some of the members.
