The new harbor basin dredging operations for the harbor development project in Maakurathu island of Raa atoll, has reached 73 percent progress.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed that the new harbor basin dredging operations for R. Maakurathu harbor development project is ongoing smoothly.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to carry out harbor dredging operations of 45,024 cubic meters.

The project also requires the construction of a breakwater measuring 140 meters, a 129-meter quay wall and a revetment measuring 85 meters.

Further, MTCC will be constructing a 28-meter groyne and installing a pavement measuring 641 square meters.

The project is valued at MVR 26.67 million.
