The Bank of Maldives (BML) has reopened applications for the Small Grants Fund.

The country’s national bank revealed that the applications for the BML Small Grants Fund was reopened in a bid to allow NGOs another opportunity to access financing to implement sustainable environmental projects.

As part of BML’s series of 12, high-impact monthly community initiatives leading up to its 40th anniversary to be celebrated in November 2022, the bank launched the Small Grants initiative as a fifth of the series, in March this year.

Through the initiative, eight winning projects will be selected to win a grant of MVR 250,000 each, to implement their plan successfully.

It is open for NGOs to carry out community-based projects that address environmental issues and promote sustainable development.

The application window will be open through September 15 and applicants have been urged to forward their forms through email.

All NGOs registered in the Maldives by 31 December 2021 will be eligible for the fund.
