Maldives Police Service (MPS) has begun probing a case of a woman falling victim to sexual assault inside an elevator of a residence in the capital city, Malé.
The police institution received reports of the assault made inside the elevator of a house in Henveyru district of Malé City on June 14.
The woman is reported to have been assaulted by a man who got on the elevator at the same time she did.
The police have since assured that further investigations are currently underway, in connection with the case.
A video footage of the suspect has since begun circulating on social media. A masked man is seen in the video footage.
