The government is to establish a new institution named “Maldives Health Services”.
This was revealed by the President’s Office on Tuesday, after President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met with his cabinet of ministers.
As such, after deliberations at the cabinet session held at the President’s Office on a paper submitted by the Ministry of Health, the cabinet recommended to form a separate institution named Maldives Health Services, which was subsequently approved by the president.
The Maldives Health Services will be tasked with improving primary healthcare as well as catering to the country’s public health requirements under a decentralized setup.
Further the institution will also have the responsibility to develop human resources, and conduct trainings for technical staff in the health sector.
