IMEX is the largest MICE fair held in Germany, targeting business travelers from Europe looking for new and exciting venues and ways to host their meetings and events. The event is took place in Frankfurt, Germany, from 31st May to 2nd June 2022.

MMPRC states that the corporation along with industry partners promoted how Maldives seamlessly merges business with leisure, and explain to potential business travelers how business events can be transformed from conventional to a b+leisure concept in the Maldives, during this event.

MMPRC took part in this event with nine industry partners to market the unique MICE venues, opportunities available in the destination to German and European business travelers. As such the corporation advertised the four main tourism products offered by the Maldives - resorts, hotels, guesthouses and liveaboards- as well as why the privacy, security, and serenity offered by Maldives provides an ideal solution for MICE travelers.

MMPRC s that the corporation represented Maldives in this event as part of their efforts to promote different segments of tourism available in the Maldives. They highlight that they have been spearheading major campaigns across the globe to promote MICE opportunities available in the Maldives to potential business travelers.

Additionally, MMPRC notes that participation in this event is part of their marketing strategy for Germany, aimed at promoting Maldives as a top of the mind and safe destination.

MMPRC has been holding many activities, including marketing campaigns, participation in fairs and exhibitions, hosting fam trips and holding webinars and other activities, in order to increase arrivals and bookings from this market.

At present Germany is the fourth top source market to the Maldives, contributing 8.5 percent with 59,731 arrivals, by the end of May.

As the company responsible for marketing the Maldives as a destination abroad, MMPRC carried out 260 different marketing activities in 22 global markets last year. These include fairs, roadshows, familiarization trips, marketing campaigns, webinars, and interviews.
