Five arrested in connection to assault in Hulhumalé

Five have been arrested in connection to two cases of assault in Hulhumalé on Wednesday night.

The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that suspects were arrested from Hulhumalé Phase II.

Two victims were reported in both the assaults that took place in the suburbs of capital Malé City, according to the police.

The police institution went on to reveal that they had received reports of the two confrontations as well, the first one was reported near Lyre Restaurant in Phase One at around 09:17pm on Wednesday.

The second confrontation took place near the bridge connecting Phase One to Phase Two and was reported to the police at around 09:32pm on Wednesday.

Further investigations are underway.
