A search party has been launched after an individual who went diving off the navigational channel in Fuvahmulah City, was reported missing.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) revealed that their Southern Area Command Coast Guard Squadron has launched a search for the missing person, who has been identified as a Maldivian.
The missing persons report was received by authorities at around 03:45pm on Monday.
The missing person was last seen wearing a black diving suit , when he went missing.
According to sources, two persons had gone diving and one of them has since been rescued, while the search for the other person continues. The rescued diver is reportedly in critical condition.
RaajjeMV understands that the missing person is a dive master working at a guesthouse in the southern city and is also a native of Addu City.
