Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF)’s Fire and Rescue have quelled a fire that broke out inside a garage in the capital city.
The fire broke out inside a garage located in Columbia of Galolhu district a little past 4pm on Thursday.
Locals residing in the building as well as nearby buildings evacuated their residences as soon as fire broke out.
Residents of the street reported explosions at the garage where a motorcycle was to have caught fire and was destroyed.
MNDF’s Fire and Rescue team arrived at the scene nearly 15 minutes after the fire broke out and quelled the fire within half an hour.
No severe injuries have been reported in connection to the fire, however, an expatriate worker at the garage is to have attained minor injuries.
