The state has spent MVR 246.4 Million, so far this year, on water and sewerage projects.
According to the statistics publicized by the Ministry of Finance on April 05, the Maldivian government has spent MVR 1.5 Billion on PSIP, by the end of March 2022.
Statistics show that of all the development projects, the highest amount of money was spent on water and sewerage projects, so far this year. These include MVR 189.5 Million on installation of water and sewerage systems in islands, MVR 10.2 Million spent on sewerage system installation, and MVR 46.8 Million spent on water systems.
Moreover, it shows that a total of MVR 235.2 Million was spent on bridge development projects in the country.
Ministry's statistics goes onto reveal that MVR 143.3 Million was spent on housing and infrastructure projects, MVR 233.8 Million on land reclamation and road construction, and MVR 177 Million on harbor development projects.
The government has so far spent; MVR 11.3 Million on national security and public order, MVR 44.9 Million on development of health services, MVR 92 Million on education sector, and MVR 200.1 million on environmental protection projects.
By the end of March 2022, the Maldivian Government's expenditure reached MVR 9.6 Billion according to the Finance Ministry.
