Bank of Maldives has announced the successful completion of a community beach in Sh. Lhaimagu, as part of the Bank’s Community Fund initiative.

BML's Community Fund initiative is a program which focuses on empowering individuals to contribute to society through sustainable community projects.

The community beach area developed through this initiative of BML is equipped with BBQ grill stands, seating areas with huts, traditional joali, picnic tables, and hammocks.

Moreover, solar powered lights were installed in the area to reduce the carbon foot print and easy access to the area during the night, as part of the project.

Through the Community Fund, the Bank has provided financial assistance for 65 projects across the country. Some of the projects that were successfully completed this year includes, a Community Eco Park in H.A. Molhadhoo, a special reading and playing area in Faafu Atoll School, a community beach park in L. Gan and installation of solar powered streetlights B. Kudarikilu island.
