Gov't expenditure reaches MVR 6.5 billion
The state spent MVR 4.4 billion as recurrent expenditure

MVR 583.2 million have been spent for loan repayment

The Maldivian government have spent MVR 6.5 billion so far this year.

Statistics made public by the Ministry of Finance show that the state have spent MVR 6.5 billion up until, March 10, 2022. For the same period last year, the recorded expenditure of the state was MVR 4.9 billion.

Finance Ministry's statistics shows that the state spent MVR 4.4 billion as recurrent expenditure. These includes the MVR 1.8 billion spent on salaries, wages and pension of staff, as well as the MVR 2.6 billion spent on administrative and operational expenses.

The government has so far, spent MVR 1.6 billion as capital expenditure. As such, MVR 30.3 million was spent on capital equipment and MVR 1 billion was spent on infrastructure assets. While MVR 370.3 million was spent on development projects and investment outlays, it is recorded that the state spent MVR 105.6 million as domestic lendings.

Moreover, MVR 583.2 million have been spent for loan repayment.

So far this year, the government spent MVR 1.1 billion on public sector investment programs.

According to the statistics publicized by the Finance Ministry, the state revenue reached MVR 5.4 billion, by March 10.
