The new Child Development Centre in Hulhumalé Hospital has been inaugurated.
The Child Development Centre in Hulhumalé Hospital was inaugurated by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Tuesday.
The newly inaugurated center offers a number of programs specialized for children under 18 years of age.
Said programs focus on their cognitive, social, emotional, speech and language development.
The center had previously begun some programs, before being officially inaugurated.
These programs were introduced for 67 children, providing a stimulating and educational environment to support the natural development of children.
Speaking at the event, VP Naseem shed light on the challenges faced in earlier days, to seek child development services and treatment .
He also noted that the new center will address the concerns of many parents, going on to share some of the plans to further expand child development services to the north and south of the country.
The Vice President spoke to length about the administration’s efforts in human resources development in the field and the healthcare sector.
The President was accompanied by spouse, First Lady Fazna Ahmed and Vice President Faisal Naseem during the inauguration ceremony.
The First Couple and Vice President toured the Child Development Centre following the inauguration of the Child Development Centre.
The inauguration ceremony also saw First Lady Fazna Ahmed donating special equipment required by the facility.
