Community Eco Park developed in H.A. Molhadhoo under BML's Community Fund initiative
Bank of Maldives (BML) has developed a Community Eco Park in H.A. Molhadhoo under the bank's Community Fund initiative.
The Community Eco Park development project of Molhadhoo focused on increasing awareness and encouraging visitors to experience the natural beauty of the area while helping preserve it for future generations.
The Park is designed with a viewing platform and is equipped solar lighting, benches and seating area with waste bins to create an area which is relaxing and environmentally sustainable.
Commenting on the project, the local NGO Chill Bros, stated that this is a special project carried out to strengthen local tourism in the island and create a way for visitors to experience the natural beauty of the island.
The Community Fund is an initiative of BML to empower individuals to contribute to their communities through sustainable projects. The Fund supports projects in the thematic areas of education, environment, sports and community development.
The Bank is currently evaluating the proposals received for the first quarter of this year.
