Monitoring measures enforced in island Covid-19 pandemic, have been dissolved.
According to Health Protection Agency (HPA) there are currently no islands under monitoring. However, 15 islands currently have reported covid-19 positive cases, as of Saturday.
The islands with positive cases are; H.A. Ihavandhoo, H.Dh. Nolhivaranfaru, Sh. Funadhoo, H.Dh. Hanimaadhoo, K. Guraidhoo, H.A. Dhidhdhoo, L. Dhanbidhoo, Sh. Kanditheemu, Th. Vilufushi, R. Alifushi, H.Dh. Makunudhoo and H.A. Hoarafushi, H.Dh. Nolhivaram, Sh. Noomara and H.A. Utheem.
HPA's informs that the positivity rate of these islands are above 20 percent.
By the end of January 2022, more than 30 islands were under monitoring due to the escalation of positive cases.
As the Covid-19 situation in the Maldives is no longer severe, especially in the capital city, most restrictions have been eased.
However, the health authority urges everyone to adhere to the guidelines in place for the safety of the people.
