The new football stadium in Nilandhoo Island in Faafu Atoll has been inaugurated.
Vice President Faisal Naseem inaugurated the newly development football stadium in Nilandhoo as part of his recent two-day tour of Faafu and Alif Dhaal atolls on Sunday.
The ceremony saw the vice president officiating the final game of the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) Under-19 Youth Championship 2021/22.
The final game saw Club Eagles going head-to-head with Super United Sports. The latter lost to Club Eagles 1 – 0 and claimed the championship trophy.
The championship trophy was presented to the winning team by VP Naseem after the finals.
The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment development the government-funded football grounds, with the installation of turf.
