The project to design and build the harbor in Bilehfahi island of Shaviyani atoll, has reached 72 percent progression.
The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed that the work on the design and build of the Bilehfahi harbor is well underway.
Currently, the contractor is working on the breakwater profiling component of the project.
MTCC has also delivered the second shipment of rock boulders required for the breakwater construction to the project site.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to dredge a total of 50,376 cubic meters, construct a quay wall measuring 181 meters and a revetment measuring 170 meters.
Further, a breakwater measuring 434 meters and a pavement measuring 1,565 square-meters are also included under the scope of the project.
MTCC will also be installing navigation lights and streetlights.
The project is valued at MVR 28.42 million.
