Several bottles of alcohol held in police custody and confiscated during multiple different operations conducted by the Drug Enforcement Department, have been destroyed.
The police institution revealed that the hefty amounts of alcohol were destroyed in Dhoonidhoo island on Monday.
The items included 717 bottles of alcohol connected to 82 cases, 67 cans of beer nine PET bottles and 46 other items.
MPS revealed that the destroyed items were all linked to cases that have been closed, after the Prosecutor General’s Office decided against pressing charges.
The institution revealed that the bottles were destroyed under the supervision of the relevant police team and under the set legal procedure for it.
