The project to design and build the harbor of Hulhudhoo island in Seenu atoll is at 81 percent progress.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed that the work on the design and build of the harbor construction is well underway in Hulhudhoo island.

Currently, the company is conducting the construction of a quay wall, which is at 89 percent progress.

Under the scope of the project, the company is tasked with dredging and excavating 88,623 cubic meters, constructing a breakwater measuring 114 meters and a revetment measuring 624 meters.

Further, the company is also tasked with the construction of a quay wall stretching up to 742 meters, install navigation aids and streetlights as well as a harbor pavement measuring up to 2,250 square meters.

Other work contracted under the project include the construction of a ramp for landing craft and a bridge measuring nine meters by four meters.

The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure awarded the project to MTCC on 1 March 2020, to be completed within 375 days.

The project is valued at MVR 61.4 million.
