Due to an alarming surge in Covid-19 cases across Kulhudhuffushi City, authorities have enforced monitoring measures across the city.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) revealed that Kulhudhuffushi was brought under monitoring at 12:57pm on Saturday.

According to the Kulhudhuffushi Regional Hospital, 22 recoveries from the virus were reported on Saturday.

The total number of active Covid-19 cases across the city currently sits at 180.

The hospital went on to reveal that there are numerous backlog samples currently pending results, as the caseload continues to spiral across the city and other islands in Haa Dhaal atoll.

Currently, monitoring measures are effective across 19 islands across the archipelago nation.
