Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has wrapped up its ‘Centara New Resorts Maldives: Reclamation of 3 Different Islands’ project.
A ceremony to mark the completion of the revolutionary project was held at CROSSROADS Maldives on Thursday, with Minister of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure Mohamed Aslam joining as guest of honor, alongside Ministers of State for National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, Akram Kamaludheen, Shifaz Al, Prapaijit Thongma, as well as Area General Manager of Centara Grand Island and Centara Ras Fushi, CEO Adam Azim and the management of MTCC.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC reclaimed three artificial islands at Vattafaru, each of which span an area of seven hectares of land.

The project was valued at USD 26.29 million and contracted to MTCC by Lagoon Assets Private Limited.
The project, titled ‘Centara New Resorts Maldives: Reclamation of 3 Different Islands’ marks a milestone for MTCC in its 40-year history. It has been dubbed by the company as the “most extensive” international project in value in the company’s long history.

Speaking at the ceremony, MTCC’s CEO Azim revealed that it is the company’s goals to compete with international companies and that the company had reached many new heights in different sectors, over the past years. Affirming that the company continues to work relentlessly to boost its capacity, CEO Azim stated that they have been completing awarded projects within the given time frame, diligently.
