Quality in state-funded projects must be maintained, to offer the most benefit to the people, says Vice President Faisal Naseem.
Taking the podium at the ceremony held to inaugurate the construction of Masjid Al-Hudha in Fuvahmulah City on Wednesday, VP Naseem urged to pursue the best possible methods to maintain quality in state-funded projects to offer the most benefit to the people.
Masjid Al-Hudha is located in the Miskiymagu ward of Fuvahmulah and will have the capacity to accommodate up to 450 worshippers, when completed.
The vice president visited Fuvahmulah School and laid the foundation to develop a new block of classrooms to facilitate the school's single-session implementation on Wednesday as well.
Speaking in the ceremony at the school, VP Naseem stated that one of the government's objectives in the education sector remains to provide better opportunities for students within the schools and a better environment for students and teachers.
Following the ceremony, VP Naseem visited Hafiz Ahmed School, where meetings were held with the heads and senior officials from all schools in the city. During the meeting the vice president urged the educators to prioritize the community's interests and the children's futures when carrying out their duties.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from four schools in the southern city, all of whom briefed the vice president on the issues and concerns facing their respective schools.
Minister of Education Dr. Aishath Ali, who also accompanies the vice president during the trip, briefed the officials regarding the incumbent administration’s policies regarding concerns the school heads raised.
VP Naseem is currently on a tour of southernmost Fuvahmulah and Addu cities.
VP Naseem, accompanied by a high-level delegation, departed to the south on Tuesday and is scheduled to conclude his four-day tour of the south and return to the capital city on Friday.
