The government pays close attention to the developmental needs and ongoing projects in Fuvahmulah City, says Vice President Faisal Naseem.
As part of his ongoing four-day tour of the southernmost cities, VP Naseem sat down for discussions with the city council, where he was briefed on the concerns and needs of city residents.
Councilors thanked and appreciated the incumbent administration’s hard work to improve their healthcare facilities and services offered by the city hospital.
VP Naseem highlighted that the government currently has a lot of ongoing development projects in the city, with an objective of initiating and completing the projects in accordance to the will and needs of the residents.
Expressing the concerns and needs of Fuvahmulah residents to the vice president, the councilors extensively discussed solutions to the issues facing the city.
Discussions also revolved around modernized road development, upgrading healthcare services, improving education in the city, including the model school concept and additional educational development
VP Naseem was also briefed on the ongoing work at the powerhouse, safety upgrades during disembarking to and embarking from the city, safe access to swimming in the areas around the city and tablet computers for the school children.
Further, they shared concerns revolving around the halted transportation services between Fuvahmulah City and Huvadhoo Atoll and engaged in discussions regarding possible solutions.
VP Naseem reaffirmed the councilors that their issues will be raised with relevant government authorities and work will be carried out to find suitable solutions. The vice president went on to share the latest updates of the projects planned and ongoing in the city.
The meeting was joined by the high-level officials from the government accompanying the vice president during the trip.
VP Naseem and toured the site where additional upgrades to the Gnaviyani Atoll Education Centre in Fuvahmulah are ongoing.
