Ismail Nadheem, North Police Division’s Deputy Regional Commander, Chief Inspector of Police has died of a heart attack.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) reported Nadheem’s sudden death on Sunday night.
The Baa atoll Hithaadhoo island native collapsed during a football game held at Eydhafushi island of Baa toll after suffering from a heart attack.
He is to have passed away while undergoing treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) on Sunday evening.
In honor of Late CIP Nadheem, the police flag will be flown half-mast.
Following the news of Nadheem’s passing, Commisisoner of Police Mohamed Hameed revealed that the entire police institution has been immersed in grief following the death of a fellow inspector, who was diligent and sincere in his work.
He had been employed in the institution for over 18 years and was identified as a capable and skilled officer of the force.
The police institution has sent condolences to the mourning family of the deceased.
Nadheem,37 was the recipient of medals in the 2004 Tsunami, police, discipline and long service among many others.
The late inspector is survived by three children, two boys and one girl.
