President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih returned to Maldives capital Malé City after concluding his six-island tour of Alif Alif atoll, on Thursday.

During the important two-day trip, the president held a number of meetings with key stakeholders, business owners, guesthouse owners, farmers, island councils, Women’s Development Committees (WDC) as well as island communities.

The six islands the president covered during the trip were Thoddoo, Rasdhoo, Ukhulhas, Mathiveri, Bodufolhudhoo and Himandhoo.

During his visit, the president visited a number of key landmarks as well as the sites of development projects and inaugurated a few completed initiatives.

President Solih inaugurated the new multi-purpose hall and 12 new classrooms at the local school in Thoddoo and the newly-built mosque worth MVR 4.44 million in Bodufolhudhoo. The mosque has the capacity to accommodate 300 worshippers.

Further, the new harbor in Himandhoo was also inaugurated by the president. The project cost approximately MVR 43.6 million and measures 241 feet by 91.3 feet in size.

A delegation of cabinet ministers and senior government officials accompanied the president during the trip.
