President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has urged communities nationwide to uphold their social, individual responsibility to maintain peace among the society.

In his address on the occasion of Prophet Muhammad Rasūl Allāh Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam (SAW) (PBUH) Eid Milad ul-Nabi, the president noted that Maldivians must focus on their individual responsibility to maintain the harmony among the people, in accordance with the teachings of the Prophet.

He conveyed greetings of the day to all Maldivians, Muslims and leaders of Islamic countries across the globe celebrating the blessed occasion.

The Maldivian president went on to urge the country to learn to apply the Prophet’s wisdom and teaching to address livelihoods and society.

Adding that Prophet Muhammad's enlightenment has allowed a prosperous civilization to thrive through ensuring individual civil responsibility and accountability as well as nurturing close social relations, the president said that this is the ideal that all Muslim nations must strive for.

Solih stated that Muslims across the globe must take the guidance of Prophet Muhammad that have taught the greatest lesson of true measure of a nation’s progress being the solidarity among the communities.

Stating that the Prophet had shown how positive growth always starts with oneself, President Solih noted that this principle had always been mirrored in his own actions.

With this being said, the president noted that our Prophet had actively demonstrated the virtuous belief of not causing others harm, refraining from spreading hatred and damaging others property as well as letting go of rage.
