The Ministry of Health has collected statements from everyone linked to the case of a child’s death in Fuvahmulah Hospital.
Fuvahmulah Hospital Manager Mohamed Lirar told RaajjeMV that a team from the ministry had arrived in the island on October 6 and collected the statements from employees at the hospital as well as the family of the deceased.
The hospital is currently awaiting the ministry’s final report, said Lirar.

The family accuses the hospital of being negligent in the case of the child’s death, with the ministry’s technical team having launched a probe into the allegations as well. The authority has assured that the required action will be taken is any negligence is identified.
The child, taken to the hospital due to vomiting and abdominal pain, was attended to by doctors and nurses at the hospital immediately. He was taken to the hospital at around 7:30pm on October 3. The family has asserted that Saadha Saudhulla, six, died due to an injection she was given at the hospital.
The family further stated that Saadha deteriorated after being given the shot, accusing hospital workers of attempting to hide the news of her passing when it happened.
