Discussions regarding the role of women in developing the nation as well as bringing national success, have been held.

President of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (PGA), Minister of Foreign Affairs and State Dignitary, Order of the Distinguished Rule of Izzudin Abdulla Shahid’s wife, Aishath Suiza paid a courtesy call on First Lady Fazna Ahmed on Saturday morning.

First Lady Fazna noted that there are several hard-working persons behind every victory for the nation, highlighting that women also play a prominent role in national success.

In this regard, the First Lady confirmed Suiza’s role in PGA Shahid’s success at the UNGA, stating that Suiza’s choices in the general caregiving role of the family contributed to Shahid’s achievements.

Fazna also stated that as the country celebrates Shahid’s homecoming this week, it also partakes in celebrating women such as Suiza, whose efforts greatly contribute to nation-building.

The First Lady also shed light on the role women play in developing the nation, which does not lie solely in the office environment as women also have a role to fulfil in primary caregiving at homes.

Stressing on the invaluable contributions of women to nation-building, Fazna described Suiza as an “outstanding” example of the crucial role played by women in the progress of the country.

During the discussions, the First Lady also wished Shahid success on his visions for the “Presidency of Hope” revolving around “Five Rays of Hope”. She expressed confidence that Shahid will prioritize Covid-19 recovery and the protection of rights of women during his tenure.
