Maldives Covid-19 death toll has risen to 232.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) identified the 232nd victim of Covid-19 as a 54-year-old Maldivian man.
The man was receiving treatment at Hulhumalé Medical Facility, before being declared dead at around 2:40am on Monday.
The last Covid-19 victim was identified as an 80-year-old Maldivian man who died while receiving treatment at the Covid Management Facility in Shaviyani atoll, on September 25.
This is the sixth death to have been reported this ongoing month.
Of the 232 deaths linked to coronavirus, 182 have been reported thus far in 2021.
The island nation reported the highest number of deaths in a single month since the pandemic began, during May 2021, when a total of 88 deaths were confirmed. 50 deaths were confirmed in June while 10 deaths were reported in July. In August, five Covid-19 patients succumbed to the virus.
Maldives reported its first Covid-19 fatality in April 2020.
