Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been contracted a shore protection project in Kunburudhoo island in Alif Dhaal atoll.
The agreement was signed by Chief Operating Officer (COO) of MTCC Shahid Hussain Moosa and Permanent Secretary Zeeniya Hameed on behalf of the Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, during a ceremony at the planning ministry building.
Under the agreement, MTCC is tasked to implement the design and build of shore protection structures on the islands.
The project, worth MVR 9.61 million, is contracted to be completed within 150 days.
According to MTCC, the project will see dredging of the harbor area, the building of a 57-meter quay wall, installation of a nine-meter-long ramp and installing a revetment measuring 170 meters.
The company will also be tasked with paving an area measuring 250 square meters as well as the installation of lights.
