The remand of the two suspects of assault arrested from southernmost Addu City has been extended by 10 more days.
The arrests were made in connection to an assault that wounded a 27-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman on September 17. Neither of the victims attained serious injuries.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they received the report of the attack on two individuals on a motorcycle with a sharp weapon, at around 8:05pm on September 17.
Arrested in connection to the case are two 27-year-olds.
This incident was reported not long after the police institution reported to having receiving information of a violent altercation between two groups in the Hithadhoo flat region, which left a 29-year-old man severely injured.
Police received reports of the gang violence at around 12:08pm the same day, and two individuals are to have been wounded in the assault. One of them was brought to the capital city for further treatment, and he is currently in stable condition.
The suspect arrested in connection to this case has been remanded pending the outcome of the trial.
The police institution revealed that further investigations are underway into both cases.
