As part of the First Couple’s ongoing trip to New York City to attend the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), First Lady of the Maldives, Fazna Ahmed has attended a book launching ceremony hosted by the First Lady of Turkey, Emine Erdogan.
Titled “My Travels to Africa” the book was launched during a ceremony held at the Turkish House in New York City.
The event was joined by spouses of state and government leaders and representatives from NGOs and international organizations, as well as several others.
The Maldivian First Lady was joined by Special Envoy for Climate Change, Sabra Ibrahim Noordeen during the book launching event.
Written by the First Lady of Turkey, the book is dedicated to her mother and includes experiences of her visit to Africa from 2014 to 2020.
Royalties from the book will be used to support women and children in need, across Africa.
