Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has introduced special scholarships aimed at the youth community.
A special session was also held on Sunday for students of the Maldives National University (MNU) in order to impart information regarding the scholarship program.
The head of MPL Ports Training Center, Neesha Khaleel stated that scholarships are offered from different sectors; a total of five fields.
These five fields are Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime and Logistics, Bachelor’s Degree in Maritime Operations, Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
Neesha stated that MPL will cover the expenses throughout the courses, including travel expenses if the scholarship-holder wishes to come to Maldives during holidays.
In addition, employment at MPL has also been promised upon conclusion of the course.
Furthermore, the Assistant General Manager of MPL, Ahmed Athif has stated that the courses are specifically aimed at those who have completed their A ‘levels. The deadline for application to the courses is September 21. Athif expressed hopes to receive a lot of applications for the scholarships.
MPL also orchestrates many other programs, other than granting scholarship opportunities.
