Buru Sports Club and Biss Buru Sports Club are to face each other in the finals of the Third Division Football League.
Buru Sports Club moved on to the finals after easily defeating Club Only One Opportunity (O1O) in the semi-finals with 7-1 score at the Maafannu Stadium, turf number one.
The goals in the match were scored by Mohamed Thashmeen, Abdulla Shafiu, Roman Kushchenko, Sobol Illia, Ibrahim Mubeen Ahmed Rasheed and Mohamed Atheef. Thashmeen scored a total of two goals while O1O’s Godfrey West Omadoo scored their only goal during the last minute of the first half.
Buru Sports Club progressed to the finals under the instructions of first division's Club Eagles Assistant Coach, Ahmed Nimad.
Further, Biss Buru Sports Club advanced to the finals after defeating Little Town Sports (LTS) in the second semi-final match on Friday night with a score of 2-nil. Biss Buru Sports Club took the lead of the match during the first half, with the first goal scored by Mohamed Faihan Imran and the second goal scored by Mohamed Farish Hassan.
The final match is to be played between Buru Sports Club and Biss Buru Sports Club this coming Monday and the four teams that qualified for the semi-finals of this tournament have been given the opportunity to play in next season’s Second Division Tournament.
The Third Division Football League is currently ongoing after it came to a halt the past two years. The last Third Division Tournament was hosted back in 2018 and Rock Streets Sports Club had attained championship that year.
