The quality standard football turf stadium being built in K. Maafushi by the government has finally concluded its work.
RKL Company was responsible for evening out ground for the turf stadium, with an amount of MVR 1,933,319 spent on this. Turf installation was done by VAMCO costing MVR 2،598،685.
While Sports Minister Ahmed Mahloof announced the completion of the work on the stadium via Twitter, he added that this is part of the government's work to develop quality standard turf stadiums across the country.
Further, Football Association of Maldives (FAM) President Bassam Adheel Jaleel has even revealed that discussions have been held to host the Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League matches at the new stadium in Maafushi.
While establishing turf stadiums in 100 islands is one of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's presidential pledges, stadium's have been completed and opened in a total of 12 islands thus far. Work on a number of these stadiums are to conclude within this year.
These stadium's will help FAM to expand the Dhivehi Premier League across the country, with the introduction of a "home and away" league.
